The Giants are 3-9 against the Cowboys since September of 2016, but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. New York and Dallas will face off in an NFC East battle at 8:15 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium. Both teams are tiptoeing into their matchup after sneaking past their previous opponents.

It was all tied up 6-6 at the half for the Giants and the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday, but New York stepped up in the second half for a 19-16 victory. No one had a standout game offensively for New York, but they got one touchdown from QB Daniel Jones. Jones ended up with a passer rating of 117.90.

Most of the squad’s points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed 13. K Graham Gano booted in four field goals, the longest a 56-yarder in the fourth quarter, which ultimately accounted for the difference in the contest.

“We see every opportunity as a chance to show everyone what we can do and we’re going to try to play our best football every time we step on the field,” Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones said. “Monday night game, there’s some energy, there’s some excitement to it. Every time we step on the field we’re trying to play as well as we can and show everyone what we can do.”

The Giants host the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium for Monday Night Football in NFL Week 3 on Monday, Sept. 26 (9/26/2022) at 8:15 p.m. ET.

The game will be broadcast nationwide on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2, and can be streamed live on DirecTV Stream, fuboTV and other live TV services.

The Giants are 2-0 to start the season following their 19-16 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 2. The Giants defense held the Panthers to 275 yards and a 2-of-12 showing on third down. It’s New York’s first 2-0 start since 2016.
